1. Steak and Swiss Cheese Stuffed Burgers

Have you ever tried making a stuffed burger from scratch at home?  It is so easy, and it doesn’t require a lot of expensive ingredients to make a really amazing gourmet burger on your own grill.

a) Simply start with a 1 lb. package of Florida Raised grass-fed ground beef.   Then add horseradish and steak sauce into your ground beef mixture, before you form the patties.  Evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef into equal portions.   Make each separate portion into a meat ball and set aside in a bowl.

b) Next, cut Swiss cheese into cubes.  You want to aim for about half inch x half inch size in diameter for each cheese cube.  Next, make an indentation in the center of the ground beef ball.  Place the cheese cube in that indentation and then carefully form your patty so that the cheese is fully covered by the Florida Raised ground beef.

If you want an even cheesier bite (and thicker burger) you can combine two portions as a top and bottom, with the Swiss cheese in between.  Glaze your homemade steak and swiss cheese stuffed burgers with extra steak sauce for a really amazing bite.

2. Wild Mushroom and Blue Cheese Stuffed Burgers

We know that sautéed mushrooms go great with burgers (or any kind of beef really) but have you thought about combining them INSIDE the burger with the added kick of blue cheese? We know it sounds like a bit of a strange combination… until you try it.   If you love blue cheese you are really going to enjoy this stuffed scratch cheeseburger idea.

a) Grab a package of our fresh (never frozen) locally produced grass-fed ground beef (or two, depending on how many people you are preparing a meal for).  Place the ground-beef in a bowl and add 1 flat tablespoon of garlic powder and lightly season with salt and pepper to taste.

b) Get a little crazy and experimental with your mushrooms.  Try selecting uncommon but really flavorful varieties such as cremini mushrooms, oyster mushrooms or chanterelles. Dice them up and sauté them in butter in a pan, and then drain them to remove excess butter and oil.

c) Equally divide your seasoned ground beef into portions and roll them into a ball.  Place a small indent (about the size of two thumbprints) into each ball.  Set aside.

d) Crumble about 1 cup of blue cheese (you made need more if preparing more than 4 burger patties) into a bowl.  Set aside.

e) Put 1-2 tablespoons of the sautéed mushrooms and about 1 tablespoon of the crumbled blue cheese into each indent.  Then form your patty around the stuffing.

Grill for approximately 3 minutes on each side, or until the meat thermometer reads 160°F.  That’s how you know they are done, without over cooking.  Make sure to take your reading from the side of the burger, not directly in the center where your stuffing is.

3. Cream Cheese Stuffed Jalapeño Burgers

Do you love jalapeño poppers? Then you are really going to love this amazing idea for delicious cream cheese and jalapeño homemade burgers.  Follow the steps to lightly season your Florida Raised ground-beef as we’ve shared above to get started and portion your patties out.

a) Decide on the level of spiciness you want. If you want a burger that has a really hot flavor sensation, then you want to use raw (seeded and washed) jalapeños.  Simply slice them into thin circles or dice them up depending on your preference.

If you want something a little milder with all the rich pepper flavors, opt instead for pickled jalapeños that you can find at the supermarket. They are in the Mexican food section and are the same type that is used as a topping for nachos at home.  Because they are soft, you can either keep them as whole slices or you can dice them up for your stuffed burger.

b) Take one package of cream cheese and mix it in a bowl until the cheese becomes soft.  Next, fold in the fresh or pickled jalapeños until it is mixed thoroughly.

c) Use a tablespoon to add the mixture to your hamburger portions.  In this case, because of the soft cheese, we recommend combining a top and bottom patty to sandwich the mixture in between, and seal it, so that it doesn’t escape from the center while you are grilling.
